Wilder Supports the Duck Derby for over 25 years!

The annual Duck Derby, supporting the Olympic Medical Center Foundation and presented by the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, happens on Sunday, May 22 at Lincoln Park in Port Angeles!

For over 25 years, Wilder Auto has given away a brand new Toyota truck as the grand prize to the winner of the duck race. Throughout the weeks prior to the duck race, there are opportunities to buy a duck all around town that will then be your "raffle ticket" and allow you the chance to win. The ducks are dumped into the pond at Lincoln Park at 2:30pm on Sunday and sprayed across the water to "race" to the finish line. Along with a brand new Toyota truck, there are 43 other prizes awarded to winners from various local businesses!

The mission of the Olympic Medical Center Foundation is to improve the lives of patients of Olympic Medical Center.

Since 1990, it has raised over $5 million, which has enabled the hospital to buy state of the art medical equipment, pay for staff training and pay for new services.

It has been able to do so because of the Duck Race, which has provided funds for the hospital since that time.

Guess how many ducks?

Along with the Duck Derby, Wilder also has a separate drawing to win $500 for whomever has the guess closest to the number of ducks we have in the bed of a new Toyota Tacoma in the Wilder Toyota showroom. The drawing takes place on Friday, May 20th.

Did you know that Sequim has a fantastic Farmers Market that runs from May all the way until October? Farmers Markets are a great place to buy local, and you will find things here that cannot be found anywhere else. Food, hand-crafted art, clothes, jewelry and live music are just a few of the great things on show every Saturday from 9am to 3pm at the corner of E Washington Street and N Sequim Ave.

Oh yeah, and did we mention that Wilder Auto will also be there every week? We are a proud sponsor of the Farmers Market and are excited to be able to join in with other local businesses and connect with folks in Sequim and the surrounding areas. Did you miss our Spring 2016 Truck and RV Show?

On Friday and Saturday of the weekend of April 8th and 9th, Wilder Auto held a Truck and RV show up on "the hill" overlooking the Wilder Honda building. With summer months coming soon, we thought it would be a great time to showcase all the newest model trucks and some fantastic RVs by Surveyor and R-Pod.

Our Wilder RV lot is down off East Front Street, close to downtown Port Angeles, but we moved a bunch of our RV inventory over to "the hill" so we could show off the RVs and the trucks together. We cleared a great big space and moved some of the latest and greatest trucks and several different models of RVs around for easy viewing and exploring. Seeing all the different models in one place was definitely exciting and opened up the imagination to the possibilities and combinations that we have available.

Even though the wind was a bit brisk, the sun was shining and we had some free hot dogs on the barbeque, giving that early summer vibe. We even had a free iPad giveaway and chance to win a local shopping spree. A lot of folks come out to look at the different trucks and RVs, and since Wilder is situated pretty nicely between Port Angeles and Sequim, we were able to talk to and meet people from all over the area. We had a great time, with a lot of people (including salespeople!) looking at how these RVs and trucks work, and how it would make traveling simple, convenient, and fun.

Since Wilder Auto sells from several different manufacturers, we have the opportunity to show various truck models between Ram, Jeep, Nissan, and Toyota. Because of this variety we really have something for everyone. Speaking of which, Honda is releasing their newly redesigned 2017 Ridgeline very soon as well, but we'll have a different post about that.

I was particularly impressed with the R-Pod and Surveyor RV trailers. For a pretty incredible price, these RVs pack quite a punch when it comes to features and space. While it doesn't look too big on the outside, just take a moment to step into an R-Pod and you'll be surprised at how roomy and comfortable they are. The Surveyor models, being a little bigger, have more than enough room to take quite a few people on the road, so even large families can make great use of them. We had some discounted pricing during the show, but the payment options available for these RVs is shocking in how affordable they can be.
